Leo Rutherford:     Leo Rutherford is the founder of Eagle's Wing Centre for Contemporary Shamanism (www.shamanism.co.uk) and author of Way of Shamanism, The Shamanic Path Workbook and The View through the Medicine Wheel. He received his MA in Holistic Psychology from Antioch University, San Francisco, and has studied with many gifted shamans. In his work he seeks to bring together ancient techniques of shamanism and modern techniques of psychotherapy to help people of today to find their Path-With-Heart and to Walk-In-Beauty.   At this Soul Companions Gathering he will be teaching the following workshops;   THE MEDICINE WHEEL OF LIFE How the Universe really works. Medicine wheels have been used for teaching about the cosmos and how it works since antiquity. They teach the natural order of things, of the human's place in the world and of the deep purpose of life.  Medicine means everything that heals, that brings wholeness (holiness).  Your medicine is your wisdom, gained through life experience.  Medicine is power over yourself and thus your ability to respond to life. Your medicine is what you ‘give away’ to the world and what you contribute to the evolution of all-that-is. Participants will be involved in the creation of a medicine wheel and in exploring the multitude of teachings and understandings that come through this ancient way of understanding the Universe.   NUDGES FROM SPIRIT Listening instead of waiting to be clobbered! Spirit nudges us in many different ways but when we fail to listen, it can clobber us with the proverbial 2 by 4.  This is (in my experience) definitely worth avoiding! The far-reaching changes taking place at the present time augur great challenges coming our way.  Preconceived ideas and dreams are no good any more – this is the time of re-dreaming, re-framing, re-imagining. It is time to embrace uncertainty and flow with life’s changes, to begin coming together in communities (eg. Transition Towns) and supporting each other in the Great Adventure into the Unknown. It is time to let-go of false ‘securities’ and dare to embrace life’s new challenges and wonders as the Earth goes through her own changes, taking us (willingly or not) with Her.. Included in the workshop will be a journey together in a ‘spirit boat’ to meet our Soul Companions and collectively divine/remote view probable futures and the challenges they will bring.
